Indigoblu Design Team do Fathers Day

Steampunk Fathers Day card

Morning All,

Today I'm sharing a card I made for our IndigoBlu Fathers Day Blog Hop. The Design Team have created some wonderful cards to showcase a wide variety of stamps which can be used to create masculine cards. So here's mine.....
Stamps used....

Using a sheet of the Indigoblu "Steampunkesque" Mixed Media card I distressed it by giving it a wash of Gesso.

I then stamped the Collectors Edition No.7 Cogs and Gears randomly over the page with the new "Ugly Duckling" translucent acrylic paint. The new colours were recently launched on Hochanda by Lou Withers and they are to die for!

I also stamped Collectors Edition No.2 French Script using the new "Indigoblu" translucent acrylic paint. I didn't use an acrylic block so the effect is more random. The Hot Air Balloon from the "Grand Tour III" was stamped to the right of the page in Stazon "Cloudy Sky"

The map from "Grand Tour II" was stamped in black ink. I then trimmed the card down to layer onto an A6 black card blank.

Using Stazon "Spiced Chai" the map was also stamped onto Rice Paper. An easy way to give this a feathery edge is to wet it with a paint brush and then gently pull it away.

The verse was taken from the "Mindfulness #1" stamp set and stamped in black onto tracing paper. This was layered onto the Rice Paper and a torn piece of black card and stapled together.

Some Cog embellishments were adhered to add the final touch.

Nature III - New Release

Morning All,

Hope you all managed to watch Kay on Hochanda last week launching her new stamps. They flew out, quite literally. The flowers are beautiful and the birdie, which I think Kay and Janice decided it was a Robin, is super cute.

For my cards I used the individual flowers from Nature III and the sentiment for one of the cards from Meadow Flowers.

Initially I made a masterboard but unfortunately I didn't take photos of this process. However I started with an A4 piece of card and painted it randomly with the following Indigoblu Acrylic Paints - Marshmallow, Mulberry Bush, Wimberry Pie, Burning Bonfire, Pantry White, Cinderella, Townhouse Teal and White Gesso. I then stenciled with the Bubbles, Script and Faded Dots using contrasting colours over the painted surface.

The flowers were then stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and fussy cut. This took me ages as I'd stamped the whole A4 page with flowers. Better to have too many than not enough plus I now have spares to make more cards with.

I then chose to use an A6 Deckle Edge card blank and adhered three of the flowers overlapping slightly. The sentiments were stamped in Versafine Black Onyx and to finish off the card I added Fabric Sparkles in the centres of the flowers.

I did actually make four cards out of all the flowers and still had some spare to make more.

These were a huge success on Hochanda and its clear to see you all loved the new releases.

Happy Crafting

IndigoBlu Travel Stamps

Morning All,

Today I'm sharing how I created my canvas's with the new release Travel Stamps from IndigoBlu. These were launched on Hochanda on Friday 16th February. I hope you managed to catch Kay's shows.

All three canvas's were prepped the same with Frosty Sky acrylic paint. This was dry brushed over the canvas.

Using my brayer I lightly added a touch of Malachite. This is from the Limited Edition Translucents range.

I then added Stroke of Midnight through the Cogs and Gears stencil.

I stamped the Collectors Edition Cogs and Gears randomly on the canvas followed by the new  release Fly High stamps in Stazon Midnight Blue.

Finally I used the Inky Dink Bubble Wrap stencil with Miss Moneypenny Metallic Copper acrylic paint.

Super Thick Slap It On mixed with Frosty Sky thickens the paint so it can be used through the Inky Dink Tyre Tracks stencil. The Tyre Tracks were stenciled on the car and motorbike canvas's for additional texture.

The text was stamped onto white card with Stazon Midnight Blue and each line cut separately. This was then edged with Miss Moneypenny Metallic paint to highlight.

These were a huge success on Hochanda and hope you agree these new stamps are fabulous.

Happy Crafting

Luscious Flowers

Morning,

Today I'm sharing this Luscious Flower card on the Indigoblu blog. Hope you'll pop by to see the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team.

Firstly the background was stamped with the leaf design from the 'Aztec Borders' stamp set. I used my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform to enable me to line up and repeat stamp the border.

The border was stamped with FlitterGlu and I used Copper Kettle and Eton Mess Mega Flakes on alternate borders. Top Tip: ensure you rub the flake onto the FlitterGlu  firmly with your fingers before using the Scoochie to remove the excess Flake.

The flowers and leaves were taken from the following sets Marigold and PeonyPeony and the Anemone and Daisy and stamped with the FlitterGlu and MegaFlake as before onto white card.

These flowers and leaves were painted with Luscious 'Buttercup' and 'Green'  then fussy cut. I toned down the background by dry brushing White Gesso in the same direction as the leaf border. The leaves and Anemone flowers were positioned behind the main Peony flower. These were all adhered with silicone glue to give additional dimension.

The Luscious and FlitterGlu sparkle beautifully when they catch the light.

Please do leave a comment as I would love to hear from you and have chance to view your blogs too.
